In many cases, the existing touch sensor will have permanent wire nuts. If so, you'll need to cut the wires to remove them and then strip them back to expose the raw copper. If the wire nuts are removable, twist them counterclockwise to take them off. You will use new orange wire nuts by twisting them clockwise to secure your new connections.

Here’s how to connect your wires:

1. Connecting the Touch Wire: While using the wiring diagram, connect each wire accordingly. If there’s a touch wire already in place, it can be easier to cut and strip the wire from your lamp to join it with the green touch wire from the sensor box. When needed, you can remove the bolt from the lamp base and connect the metal circle of the yellow wire to the touch surface as specified in the instructions (see options 1 and 2).

2. Connecting the White Wire: Use a wire nut to connect the white wire from the sensor box to one wire coming from the lamp and another from the power plug. This involves three connections: one from the lamp, one from the plug, and one white wire.

3. Connecting the Red Wire: Next, with another wire nut, connect the red wire from the sensor box to the last remaining wire from the lamp.

4. Connecting the Black Wire: Lastly, connect the black wire from the sensor box to the remaining wire from the power plug using a wire nut.
